ISAM’s Logo and Corporate Identity Has Been Renewed
With its long-established history and conducted projects, ISAM is one of the most prominent research institutions in Turkey. Taking into account the 2014’s “restructuring process” and the future vision of the Centre, logo and corporate identity have been renewed.

The book written by Asst. Prof. Mehmet Sami Baga was published. In this book, the definition of the object, its metaphysical principles, its coming into existence and its relation with the philosophy of nature are discussed within the framework of the Hikmat al-‘ayn tradition.
A NEW BOOK published as part of the Project of the Second Classical Period!
Tradition of Commentaries - Glosses in Siyer Writing: The Case of Moğultay b. Kılıç written by Asst. Prof. Güllü Yıldız was published. This book, which is a step taken to fill the gap in question, has been written to introduce the historical development of commentaries and glosses in siyer writing and the works written within this tradition and to establish the place of al-Zahr al-bāsim written by Moğultay b. Kılıç (d. 762/1361) as a gloss upon Abd al-Raḥmān al-Suhaylī’s commentary al-Rawḍ al-unuf upon Ibn Hishām’s al-Sira al-Nabawiyya, in siyer writing.
A NEW BOOK published as part of the Project of the Second Classical Period
Al-Tasdīd fī sharḥ al-Tamhīd, a book of Husāmaddīn Hussain al-Sighnākī (d. 714/1314), one of the important representatives of the Hanafi-Māṭurīdī tradition of his period, was critically edited by Ali Tarık Ziyat Yılmaz and published by ISAM as part of the Project of the Second Classical Period.
Expanded and Revised Book from Reference Work Series!
Expanded and Revised 3rd edition of ISAM’s Guide for Critical-Edition has been published by ISAM within the scope of ISAM’s Second Classical Period Project. Prepared by Okan Kadir Yılmaz, the guide, which is a handbook, contains basic subjects and principles for those interested in studying critical-edition.

New issue of Journal of Ottoman Studies, joint work of ISAM and İstanbul 29 Mayıs University, has been published.
89th volume of Contents of Recently Arrived Journals has been completed
83th volume of our periodical Contents of Recently Arrived Journals, which includes the ‘Contents’ of the periodicals in foreign languages that ISAM continuously follows and which is published triannually, has come out. All of the volumes of this periodical, the first volume of which was published in 1994, are available in PDF format.
Facsimile Edition of the oldest, full-text Sahīh al-Bukhari copy Second Edition
Imam Bukhari’s hadith work al-Cāmiʿu’s-Sahīh recognized in the name of Sahīh al-Bukhari, is the oldest and full-text copy of the manuscript in the world, discovered intact. Second edition of this work published as facsimile edition within the scope of Early Classical Period Project of Centre for Islamic Studies and with the cooperation of Manuscript Institution of Turkey.
New Book from the Late Classical Period Project
The first volume and the review volume of al-Sayyed al-Sharif al-Jurjani’s Ḥāshiyat al-Tajrīd, which was one of the textbooks of the Ottoman madrasas, were published. Besides this core text of the Hasiyah, notes of al-Jurjani himself and some other Ottoman scholars are also included in the critical edition.
New Book from the Late Classical Period Project
The book Lubb al-Usul, which was authored by 10th (16th c.e.) Century scholar from Egypt Hanafis Zayn al-Din ibn Nujaym (d. 970/1563), was critically edited by Fal Sayyid al-Sinkiti and published within the scope of the ISAM Late Classical Period Project.

Prof. Salime Leyla Gürkan’s work From Abraham to Ezra the History of Israelites discusses the subject of the formational period of the Israelite History that was from the Prophet Abraham to Ezra (2000-400 B.C.E.) in the context of monotheist tradition and has been published by Centre for Islamic Studies (ISAM).

A New Book as part of the Late Classical Period Project

Within the scope of the Late Classical Period Project Rukn al-Dīn ʿUbayd Allāh al-Samarqandī’s (d.701 h./1301 m.) Cāmiʿal-usūl fī bayān al-qawā‘id al-Ḥanafīyya ve al-Shāfiʿīyya fi usūl al fiqh was critically edited by İsmet Garibullah Şimşek and has been published by TDV ISAM.

In this book, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kâfi Dönmez makes comparisons between Islamic Law and Western Law and examines the main views of certain Muslim scholars regarding the methodology of Islamic Jurisprudence and public benefit (maqasid). Dirāsāt fiqhiyya wa ‘Uṣūliyya edited by Assoc. Prof. Tuncay Başoğlu has been presented to the readers’ use by ISAM publications as part of the Series of Scholarly Researches.
