| The book of Abu Zakariyyā Yaḥyā ibn ʻUmar al-Kinānī al-Andalusī (b. 289/902) Aḥkām al-Sūq was prepared as a critical edition by İsmail Halitoğlu and published by Dar ibn al-Hazm (Beirut, Lebanon) in collaboration with al-Rābıta al-Muhammediyye li al-Ulemā (Rabat, Morocco). The book has been published for the first time in Türkiye within the scope of İSAM’s Early Classical Period Project.

The book titled Erken Dönem Tefsir Geleneğinde Nakil Anlayışı (The concept of transmission in early tafsir tradition), which was written by Assist. Prof. Ömer Dinç, was published as part of the ISAM Early Classical Period Project under the Academic Works Series. Considering all the available information, the book deals with the thesis that tafsir represents the first stage of Islamic studies, and that tafsir is an "activity of understanding the Qur'an" which began with the revelation process and was determined by the revelation itself.

Cüveynî’nin Kıyas Anlayışı (Al-Juwaynī’s Understanding of Analogy) written by Assist. Prof. M. Macit Sevgili, was published among the Scientific Research Series as part of the ISAM Early Classical Period Project. The book covers the famous Shafi‘ī jurist/methodologist and an Ash’arī theologian al-Juwaynī’s (d. 478/1085) approach, evaluation, interpretation, analysis, findings, inferences and speculations regarding analogy (qiyas).

| TAFSIR OF ABŪ AL-SUʿŪD HAS BEEN PUBLISHED |
| al Irshād al-ʻaql al-salīm ilá mazāyā al-Kitāb al-karīm was published within the scope of ISAM Late Classical Period Project which was initiated in 2012. The work is 9 volumes in total, including one volume review of the work and the author, and bibliography. The tafsir of Shaykh al-Islam Abū al-Suʿūd Efendi, who was charged with the post of Shaykh al-Islam for around thirty years during the reign of Suleyman I and afterward, is one of the most important tafsir books in its field.
Although the book has many editions, the ISAM version of the work completes other editions' shortcomings and errors in different aspects by using the author's version for the first time, containing over a thousand notes, and keeping the characteristics of the original text.

| Müfessir Olarak Ali Kuşçu (ʿAlī Kushjī as a Commentator of the Qur’an) |
Prof. Mehmet Çiçek’s book titled Müfessir Olarak Ali Kuşçu (ʿAlī Kushjī as a Commentator of the Qur’an) was published. This book, in which ʿAlī Kushjī's exegesis is analyzed through the gloss written by al-Taftazānī over a gloss of al-Kashshāf, introduces ʿAlī Kushjī and his work in detail and reveals his contributions to tafsir by presenting both his views on the methodology of Qur’anic exegesis and his interpretations of the verses of the Qur’an.

| This database comprises not only the Catalogue of Theses in Theology Faculties (1953-2010) published by ISAM but also the master and doctoral theses which are on-going or completed in Theology Faculties. Of the 14.526 master and doctoral theses, 11.059 are completed in the database.

| ISAM has added a new one to its preliminary works within the context of the activities of critical edition of Islamic manuscripts (tahqīq) as part of the Late Classical Period Project. Dr. Faisal al- Hafian, the program coordinator of the Ma’had al-mahtūtāt al-Arabiyya (The Institute of Arabic Manuscripts) in Cairo, Egypt gave a seminar at ISAM on 5 February 2013, entitled: “Between Theory and Practice, the Publication of Manuscripts.”

| “INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CRITICAL EDITION OF MANUSCRIPTS” |
| “International Workshop on Critical Edition of Manuscripts: Methods and Problems” is held on 8-9 December 2012 as the first step of ISAM’s Late Classical Period Project . Approximately 40 academics, three from abroad (Syria, Pakistan and Iran), participated in the Workshop and discussed the problems encountered in critical edition and publishing of Islamic manuscripts.
