This study focuses on the characteristics of Western thought and its historical progress until today. It also refers to the concept of Western thought as it differs from other traditions of thought, in the sense that this is something inherent in the Western world. The concept of “thought” in this work, for the most part, refers to a way of thinking that is identified with “philosophy”, particularly in a Western form, not the act of thinking in general. In this study, approaching the matter from a distinctive historical stance, Western thought is evaluated in connection with its “classical”, “modern” and “contemporary” features.
