ISAM - Center for Islamic Studies

Research Department

One of the three main units making up ISAM, the Research Department operates under the supervision of the Research Board whose members are elected by the Executive Board. This department plans all scholarly activities that will be carried on, prepares the related specific research and development programs, and takes action towards actually accomplishing them. The necessary work is carried out by various academic groups established within the Research Department, such as the Publications Board, Editorial Board of the Turkish Journal of Islamic Studies,

Publication Committee for the ISAM Bulletin,

Inter-organizational Relations Commission, Scholarly Meetings Commission, and Project Commission. Within this organizational framework, ISAM has organized various kinds of scholarly meetings, established a visiting scholar program, and initiated several new publication series.
